Position Overview:
The Quality Assurance Analyst for Risk Underwriting plays a crucial role in executing quality assurance initiatives that bolster operational risk assessments and enhance customer service experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
You will be tasked with evaluating the comprehensive underwriting Risk Management processes, specific underwriting procedures, client-focused underwriting metrics, and training effectiveness.

The QA Analyst will collaborate with internal stakeholders to conduct trend analysis and data assessments, providing actionable insights and recommendations aimed at optimizing processes and enhancing service delivery.

Product Scope:
This role encompasses support for a variety of products, including but not limited to: Life Insurance, Voluntary Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), Dental, Vision, Absence Management, Supplemental Health, and Mental Wellness offerings.

Candidate Profile:
You are a motivated professional in risk underwriting with substantial knowledge and experience in Group Underwriting products. You possess a background in audit and review processes and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams to achieve strategic objectives, drive change, and implement innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

  • A college degree with a preference for candidates with insurance industry experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years in Risk Underwriting, with a preference for experience across multiple product lines such as Life, STD, LTD, Dental, Vision, and Supplemental Health.
  • Familiarity with audit/review and rating processes is advantageous.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and coaching abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and rating platforms, including CPS, Salesforce, Simon, BTR, AuditWell, and Tableau is a plus.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting audits of business processes to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assisting in the development and redesign of programs in response to evolving business needs and new product launches.
  • Supporting compliance and risk management initiatives.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to provide trend analysis, identify areas for improvement, and recommend training opportunities.
  • Staying informed about current industry trends and best practices related to underwriting rating processes.

Reporting Structure:
As a Quality Assurance Analyst for Risk Underwriting, you will report to the Manager of Underwriting Quality Assurance & Compliance, who is part of the Underwriting Operations leadership team.

Work Environment:
This is a hybrid position, requiring two days in the office and three days of remote work. We offer flexible work arrangements aligned with business needs.

Travel Requirements:
Travel for this role is minimal, estimated at less than 10%.
