Key Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer (LSIE) to provide support for the DISA J6 - Joint Service Provider. The LSIE will be at the forefront of leading the engineering team responsible for the J6 environment, ensuring effective management of daily infrastructure operations. This role requires extensive experience in guiding teams that focus on the design and implementation of scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions.

Specific Duties Include:
  • Infrastructure Design: Create and develop scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure solutions.
  • Architecture Planning: Generate and maintain comprehensive architectural diagrams and documentation.
  • Capacity Planning: Evaluate current and future capacity requirements and strategize for scalability.
  • Implementation and Deployment: Supervise the rollout of new infrastructure systems.
  • Incident Management: Monitor infrastructure performance and health, addressing and resolving incidents and outages.
  • Operational Support: Manage and maintain Big IP F5 partitions, including architecture and configuration.
  • Network Configuration: Oversee the configuration and operation of Cisco and Juniper switching and routing infrastructure.
  • Security Compliance: Understand Department of Defense network security standards and be capable of architecting, configuring, and operating enterprise security appliances to facilitate connectivity for distributed enterprise applications.
  • Configuration Management: Ensure proper management of network configuration items.
  • Traffic Engineering: Conduct traffic engineering analysis and studies as required, including WAN optimization and network troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshooting: Address storage replication issues, link errors, congestion, and service interruptions.
  • Site Surveys: Provide customer network site surveys.
  • Project Management: Develop and manage detailed transition plans for projects.
  • Risk Management: Contribute to risk management input and detailed response plans.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain Concept of Operations documentation.
  • Engagement: Participate in organizational meetings and events to integrate into the company structure.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • At least 12 years of experience with a BS/BA; 10 years with an MS/MA; or 7 years with a Ph.D.
  • Ability to obtain DoD Interim secret clearance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in leading high-performing engineering teams.
Desired Qualifications:
  • DoD 8570 certifications (Security +) at a minimum.
