Role Overview

Peraton is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (SIE) to join our team in support of DISA J6 - Joint Service Provider. The SIE will play a crucial role in engineering network and storage systems that underpin the J6 environment. This position entails overseeing the daily operations of the infrastructure while ensuring the design and implementation of scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Design: Craft and design scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure solutions.
  • Architecture Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive architectural diagrams and documentation.
  • Capacity Planning: Evaluate current and future capacity requirements and strategize for scalability.
  • Implementation and Deployment: Supervise the rollout of new infrastructure systems.
  • Incident Management: Monitor infrastructure performance and health, addressing and resolving incidents and outages.
  • Operational Support: Manage and maintain Big IP F5 partitions, including architecture and configuration.
  • Network Configuration: Familiarity with Cisco and Juniper switching and routing infrastructure.
  • Security Compliance: Understand Department of Defense network security requirements and be capable of architecting, configuring, and operating enterprise security appliances.
  • Configuration Management: Ensure proper management of network configuration items.
  • Traffic Engineering: Conduct traffic engineering analysis and studies as directed, including WAN optimization and network troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshooting: Address storage replication issues, link errors, congestion, and service interruptions.
  • Site Surveys: Conduct customer network site surveys.
  • Project Management: Develop and manage detailed transition plans for projects.
  • Risk Management: Provide input and detailed response plans for risk management.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain Concept of Operations documentation.
  • Organizational Integration: Participate in meetings and events to integrate into the organizational structure.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • 12 years of experience with a BS/BA; 10 years with an MS/MA; 7 years with a Ph.D.; or 16 years of experience with a high school diploma.
  • Ability to obtain DoD Interim Secret Clearance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in networking.
  • Experience with Storage Area Networks (SAN).
  • Proven troubleshooting experience.
Desired Qualifications:
  • DoD 8570 certifications (Security +) at a minimum.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000, reflecting the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
