Position Overview

Peraton is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineering Lead to provide support for the DISA J6 - Joint Service Provider. The Senior Engineer will be accountable for guiding the engineering team within the J6 environment and overseeing the daily operations of the infrastructure. This role requires a strong background in leading teams responsible for the design and implementation of scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Infrastructure Engineering Lead will be tasked with:
  • Infrastructure Design: Crafting and designing scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure solutions.
  • Architecture Planning: Developing and maintaining comprehensive architectural diagrams and documentation.
  • Capacity Planning: Evaluating current and future capacity requirements and strategizing for scalability.
  • Implementation and Deployment: Supervising the rollout of new infrastructure systems.
  • Incident Management: Monitoring infrastructure performance and health, addressing and resolving infrastructure-related incidents and outages.
  • Operational Support: Managing and maintaining Big IP F5 partitions, including architecture and configuration.
  • Network Configuration: Familiarity with the configuration and operation of Cisco and Juniper switching and routing infrastructure.
  • Security Compliance: Understanding Department of Defense network security requirements and being able to architect, configure, and operate enterprise security appliances to support distributed enterprise applications.
  • Configuration Management: Ensuring proper management of network configuration items.
  • Traffic Engineering: Conducting traffic engineering analysis and studies as directed, including WAN optimization and network troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshooting: Addressing storage replication issues, link errors, congestion, and service interruptions.
  • Site Surveys: Conducting customer network site surveys.
  • Project Management: Developing and managing detailed transition plans for projects.
  • Risk Management: Providing input and detailed response plans for risk management.
  • Documentation: Developing and maintaining Concept of Operations documentation.
  • Engagement: Participating in organizational meetings and events to integrate into the organizational structure.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • At least 12 years of experience with a BS/BA; 10 years with an MS/MA; or 7 years with a Ph.D.
  • Ability to obtain DoD Interim secret clearance.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in leading high-performing engineering teams.
Desired Qualifications:
  • DoD 8570 certifications (Security +) at a minimum.
