We are currently seeking a Campus Safety Coordinator - Overnight to join our dedicated team. This role is essential in maintaining the safety and security of our campus community, including students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The Campus Safety Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Safety and Security and will be responsible for:

  • Conducting regular patrols of campus areas, both on foot and in designated vehicles, to ensure the security of individuals and property.
  • Monitoring access points and securing buildings by checking doors and windows, and addressing any unauthorized access.
  • Providing assistance and guidance to visitors, students, and staff, including escort services and information dissemination.
  • Identifying and reporting any irregularities or safety hazards, and responding to emergencies as they arise.
  • Maintaining vigilance for unauthorized individuals and potential security threats, and taking appropriate action when necessary.
  • Performing routine checks of safety systems and reporting any malfunctions.
  • Documenting incidents and preparing standardized reports as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a security or safety role.
  • Ability to work independently and conduct patrols without direct supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capability to follow safety protocols and procedures effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer service mindset.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
  • Proficiency in completing routine documentation.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Skill in building security practices and emergency response.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and integrity in all aspects of the role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in an additional language is advantageous.
