Job Overview

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in conducting safety audits, training, and compliance checks, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with departments to evaluate hazardous situations, implement corrective measures, and promote workplace safety.
  • Conduct monthly safety performance audits and inspections, developing actionable items from audit results.
  • Facilitate new hire orientations and provide specialized training sessions based on departmental needs.
  • Assist in the investigation of accidents, review reports, and track action items to prevent future incidents.
  • Maintain and update department safety rules as necessary, ensuring that safety documentation is current and accessible.
  • Coordinate the management of various safety programs, including but not limited to: Hearing Protection, Emergency Response, and Moving Vehicle Equipment programs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on industrial safety regulations, providing guidance to management and interfacing with regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Participate actively in the local Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) community, sharing best practices and updates relevant to the industry.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, and foster a safety-first mindset throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety or a related field is preferred.
  • OSH Certification and experience administering safety programs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in accident investigation, implementation of training programs, and conducting job safety analyses.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
  • Excellent communication, advisory, and facilitation skills; bilingual in Spanish is a must.
  • Ability to conduct MVE training and understand emergency management protocols.
  • Broad knowledge of health and safety regulations, including California Code of Regulations, Title 8, and 29 CFR.
  • Valid California Driver's License or the ability to obtain one.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel between multiple facilities and adapt to variable schedules and overtime as required.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are vital to meet departmental and company objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in ASP or CSP.
  • Experience with ISO or OHSAS standards.
