Job Summary

Cambro Manufacturing is seeking a highly skilled Safety Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for coordinating with all departments to evaluate and analyze hazardous situations, prevent accidents, and promote a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct monthly safety performance audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and track action items as a result of safety performance audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct new hire and transferred employee orientations to ensure they understand company safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement specialized department and/or monthly management training programs to enhance employee knowledge and skills.
  • Facilitate the established biohazard waste disposal program to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist management in investigating accidents and incidents, reviewing accident reports, and tracking action items to prevent future occurrences.
  • Assist departments with the development of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and other safety-related items or projects.
  • Coordinate Site Safe Work, Emergency Response, Contractor Safety, Incident/Accident/Illness Injury Investigations, and General Safety Procedures and/or Programs.
  • Provide input to management and interface with regulatory agencies and third parties as needed on compliance and enforcement issues.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on industrial safety and health regulations, policies, standards, and programs.
  • Participate actively in the local EHS community to stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Broad, general knowledge of health and safety regulations, California Code of Regulations, Title 8, and 29 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations)
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish)
  • Some environmental regulatory knowledge
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a health and safety role
  • Three or more years experience in administering safety programs in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of the Incident Command System
  • Valid California Driver's License or ability to obtain one
Preferred Qualifications
  • College degree and/or certification in a related field
  • Experience in ISO or OHSAS
  • ASP or CSP Certification preferred

Driving cars, trucks, forklifts, and other equipment

Working around equipment and machinery

Exposure to excessive noise

Exposure to dust, gas, fumes, or chemicals

Working at heights

Use of special visual or auditory protective equipment

Walking on uneven ground

Operation of foot controls or repetitive foot movement

Risk of exposure to bio-hazard while working such as: bloodborne pathogens, sewage, hospital waste, etc.

Steel-toe slip-resistant shoes

Hardhat

Hearing protection (e.g. ear plugs, ear muffs)

Face shields

Face covering (mask) in accordance with company policy.
