About the Role

The U.S. Army is seeking a highly skilled Public Affairs Specialist to join our team. As a Public Affairs Specialist, you will serve as the principal communication advisor to the commander on all public affairs matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise the commander on communication strategy and ensure effective communication with the public, media, and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement public affairs plans, themes, messages, and products to support the commander's communication strategy.
  • Coordinate with other information-related capabilities (IRCs) to ensure alignment with the commander's communication initiatives.
  • Provide media relations support, including facilitating engagements between national and international media outlets and Soldiers.
  • Develop and deliver communication products, such as news releases, feature articles, and social media content, to inform the public about Army activities and initiatives.
  • Lead community outreach efforts to engage with military and civilian communities and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement digital media management strategies to effectively tell the Army's story and stay connected with the Army family.
  • Deterring adversaries and countering propaganda by synchronizing and coordinating communication objectives with other staff sections in the information operations working group.
Requirements
  • Age: 17 to 34 years old
  • Education: Current Senior in High School (HS), HS Diploma, GED or higher
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizen/Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder
  • Submit to background and medical screening
