Job Overview

Position Summary

  1. Formulate organizational strategies by integrating financial and accounting insights, analyses, and recommendations to guide strategic planning and direction; set functional goals that align with the overarching organizational objectives.
  2. Support the strategic planning of financial operations, establishing both short-term and long-term priorities, objectives, and strategies; oversee the budget formulation processes, assess and supervise the development of departmental budgets to ensure alignment with district goals, and manage the administration of all district funds across various departments and organizations.
  3. Provide financial leadership across the district, ensuring comprehensive transparency regarding the financial performance of the organization.
  4. Collaborate with the Superintendent of Schools and other Chiefs to design the organizational structure necessary to achieve the district's goals and initiatives.
  5. Oversee the establishment of sustainable financial operations to ensure fiscal accountability that meets the requirements of schools, the community, and taxpayers.
  6. Lead the development of financial programs and methodologies to set standards and assess performance.
  7. Manage the maintenance of district records and reports as required on behalf of the Superintendent of Schools and other executive personnel to keep the Board of Trustees informed about district progress and future initiatives. Supervise and manage all funds, including federal, state, and local resources, and assist in the preparation of financial reports for the Superintendent, Board of Trustees, community stakeholders, district staff, and external entities as necessary.
  8. Enhance job knowledge by staying informed about new regulations; engaging in educational opportunities; reading professional literature; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
  9. Achieve financial and organizational objectives by completing related tasks as required.
  10. Conduct personnel functions (e.g., recruiting, interviewing, selecting, supervising) to ensure adequate departmental staffing, improve personnel productivity, and meet objectives within budget constraints.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, or a closely related field; MBA is preferred.
  2. Preferred professional financial designation (CA, CMA, CPA, or CFP).
  3. Proven expertise in public school finance, budgeting, and accounting principles, acquired through extensive relevant experience.
  4. Thorough understanding of competitive bidding laws and state purchasing protocols.
  5. Minimum of 10 years of directly related experience is required.
  6. Advanced skills in computer applications and analytical capabilities.
  7. Ability to devise strategies and resolve large-scale organizational challenges.
