Position Summary:

The CFO is accountable for the complete financial management of the agency, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This role involves providing essential accounting, budgeting, operational, and programmatic support across all agency initiatives. The CFO will lead and mentor the financial and accounting teams, acting as the primary liaison for all contractual engagements and proposals for new or expanded programs. Ensuring robust internal controls to protect the agency's assets and maintaining effective accounting systems for accurate financial reporting are critical responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes Financial Goals: Collaborates with the Management Team and Board of Directors to set financial performance objectives and policies aligned with the agency's strategic vision.
  • Financial Analysis: Reviews and interprets financial statements, including balance sheets and cash flow reports, to assess the agency's financial health.
  • Budget Preparation: Develops and presents financial reports and budgets for the agency and its programs to the CEO and Finance Committee.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensures adherence to funding source requirements regarding revenues and expenditures.
  • Policy Implementation: Designs and oversees the implementation of financial and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engages with potential funders to discuss financial requirements and the agency's fiscal condition.
  • Operational Efficiency: Identifies and recommends improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Financial Guidance: Provides financial insights to department heads for informed decision-making.
