Medical Office Coordinator

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our team at New York Cancer & Blood Specialists. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily opening and closing procedures of the office, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Welcome patients and visitors with a warm and professional greeting, setting the tone for a positive experience.
- Assist patients with completing necessary forms and documentation, providing clear and concise information.
- Answer telephones, respond to inquiries, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Collect co-pays and balance the office finances on a daily basis, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Build and maintain patient records through our electronic medical record system, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Assist with scheduling patient appointments, managing physician schedules, and distributing quality assurance surveys and prevention screenings.
- Monitor and respond to incoming messages from our care team inboxes, collaborating with our nursing staff to ensure seamless communication.
- Protect patient privacy by adhering to our confidentiality guidelines, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
- Contribute to a team effort by adapting to changing roles and responsibilities, demonstrating flexibility and a positive attitude.
Requirements:
- High school diploma with at least 2 years of patient-facing receptionist experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, accepting direction and contributing to a positive and supportive team culture.
- Typing and computer skills an asset, with experience in electronic medical record systems and practice management software.
- Strong customer service skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care and satisfaction.
