Position Overview
The Office Administration Director is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the intricate administrative functions within the department. This role includes managing departmental budgets, overseeing the procurement of supplies and equipment, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

The incumbent will develop and execute communication strategies aimed at enhancing relationships between the department and its faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the broader College community.

Essential Qualifications
A minimum of a two-year technical or community college degree, coupled with two years of clerical, administrative, or communications experience, or four years of progressively responsible office management experience is required. Supervisory experience, along with a background in accounting and office management, is preferred. A bachelor's degree and successful completion of a college-level geology course are advantageous. Candidates with a combination of relevant experience and education are encouraged to apply.

Key Skills and Competencies
The position demands exceptional oral and written communication skills, particularly in electronic formats. Proficiency in MS Office applications is essential. Strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students, and the public are critical. The ability to supervise and guide student employees is necessary. Familiarity with website maintenance and social media marketing is beneficial. A willingness to learn web authoring software and assist in website upkeep is expected. Knowledge of FERPA regulations regarding student privacy is preferred.

Additional Information
This role often serves as the initial point of contact for students and other stakeholders within the department. The successful candidate must exhibit strong interpersonal skills and effectively manage the diverse needs of the community.
