Bethany leads the charge in developing and executing solutions to address the increasing demands of vulnerable children and families both domestically and globally.

As a Refugee Resettlement or Afghan Case Manager, your primary role will involve delivering culturally appropriate social services to clients referred to our program. You will also be tasked with maintaining client records in accordance with the requirements set forth by partner organizations and the Department of State.

This position is designed to operate effectively with moderate supervision while adhering to established procedures and complying with agency, federal, and state regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver culturally sensitive case management services to refugee clients from their arrival in the United States;
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records as mandated by partner organizations and the Department of State;
  • Ensure the provision of services as outlined in partner organizations' guidelines and contractual agreements;
  • Complete necessary documentation within specified timeframes according to contract stipulations;
  • Participate in weekly meetings with supervisors to discuss cases and review case plans;
  • Collaborate effectively with internal staff across Bethany programs to coordinate services for clients enrolled in various programs;
  • Enhance understanding of current refugee issues through ongoing education, attendance at relevant seminars, and active participation in related committees;
  • Stay informed about community resources and refer clients for additional support as needed;
  • Be prepared to undertake on-call duties, including after-hours and weekend responsibilities;
  • Support local community volunteers by providing necessary information and training;
  • Provide transportation for clients when required;
  • Remain updated on all agency, federal, and state regulations pertaining to social services;
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences, Human Services, or a related Social Services field from an accredited institution;
  • Experience in child welfare and/or case management is highly preferred;
  • Fluency in English and additional languages such as Arabic, French, Kinyarwanda, Swahili, Dari, Farsi, or Pashto is preferred;
  • Prior experience working with refugee populations is advantageous;
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and develop cross-cultural relationships;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must be a collaborative team player;
  • Demonstrated skills in clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention;
  • Capacity to work independently while maintaining confidentiality;
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as necessary;
  • Commitment to the goals of refugee resettlement and the mission of the program;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other essential computer skills;
  • Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and a minimum of 3 years of driving experience in the US; must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with adequate insurance;
  • Pass a criminal history screening, including checks with state and local child protection agencies;
  • Alignment with the agency's Statement of Faith and Mission Statement.
