Qualifications:
  1. Must fulfill educational criteria for 'highly qualified paraprofessional' as stipulated by federal regulations.
  2. Must demonstrate fundamental competencies in reading, writing, and mathematics.
  3. Possession of valid Act 34, 114, and Act 151 clearances.
  4. Valid tuberculosis screening and physical examination, with reasonable accommodations as per ADA.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or possess a valid work visa.
  6. Any additional qualifications deemed appropriate by the board or superintendent.

Summary

This position assists in creating a safe and supportive environment conducive to learning for all students. The role involves implementing instructional directives as assigned by the principal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Support the principal and educational professionals in maintaining a safe and orderly environment within the school.
  2. Assist in delivering appropriate instructional and tutorial support.
  3. Help students develop routines and master instructional materials across various subjects including ESOL, Title, special education, and reading.
  4. Respond appropriately to emergency situations following established protocols and policies.
  5. Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.

Physical Demands

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential duties of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with ADA requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to communicate effectively, walk, climb stairs, and bend. The role may involve lifting and carrying weights of up to 25 pounds over short distances. The use of hands and fingers for handling documents and equipment is required. The incumbent must also be able to stand, sit, and reach with hands and arms. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to focus. Some positions may require attending to the physical and hygiene needs of children, which may involve additional physical demands.
