Position Overview


This is a full-time, hands-on role focused on delivering expert consulting services, conducting environmental assessments, and performing safety inspections at various client sites. We emphasize teamwork and believe that employee involvement is crucial for enhancing our organization and the clients we support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate a compliance evaluation strategy and execute facility assessments at diverse client locations to ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Create detailed reports outlining assessment findings along with suggested corrective measures.
  • Support clients in achieving and surpassing their environmental and safety compliance goals.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with clients and relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Record observations and findings in various formats, including forms, field notes, and chain of custody documents as necessary.
  • Oversee the development of Client EH&S programs and plans.
  • Tailor and deliver mandatory environmental and safety training to clients and their teams.
  • Utilize data management systems to monitor client compliance timelines, significant events, and specific client requirements.
  • Stay informed about evolving environmental and safety legislation, regulations, and local ordinances and their potential impact on clients.
  • Assist other departments as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong public speaking abilities, capable of engaging with diverse audiences in various work settings.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable environmental and safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Competence in analyzing, documenting, collecting data, auditing, and reporting findings.
  • Proficient in using computer applications such as Acrobat and Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn various environmental and safety programs, including but not limited to: HMBP, Hazardous Waste Management, and Hazmat/Haz Waste Transportation, as well as conducting site audits for compliance.
Educational Background
  • Bachelor's degree in a core science or a closely related field (e.g., chemistry, biology, etc.).
Experience Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance standards.
  • Ability to foster trust and build strong client relationships.
  • Commitment to upholding compliance regulations.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • For EH&S Specialist II, additional qualifications include but are not limited to:
    • Anticipating client needs effectively.
    • Accurately interpreting laws and regulations.
    • Mentoring and training EH&S Specialist I.
    • Dedication to advancing professional development certifications.
Preferred Certifications
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred (with 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher certificates).
  • REHS - Registered Environmental Health Specialist is preferred.
  • CHMM - Certified Hazardous Material Manager is preferred.
  • ICC California UST System Operator certification is preferred or must be obtained shortly after hiring.
  • Qualified Industrial Storm Water Practitioner certification is preferred or must be obtained within a specified timeframe after hiring.
Compensation: $66,560 to $67,500 annually. This role requires travel approximately 50% of the time (primarily day trips), with expenses covered by the company.
