Environmental Compliance Specialist at AECOM

Position Overview: AECOM is looking for an Environmental Compliance Specialist to deliver air quality compliance services to Department of Defense (DOD) clients. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of air quality regulations and policies.
  • Prepare comprehensive permit application packages and relevant documentation.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies for permit modifications and development.
  • Draft and evaluate Air Quality Management Plans that outline regulations impacting air emission sources at facilities.
  • Assess compliance strategies utilized at facilities and offer innovative solutions to mitigate non-compliance risks.
  • Guide and mentor junior staff while overseeing tasks of varying complexity.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in air quality compliance.
  • A valid U.S. Driver's license is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship is necessary due to federal contract requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to the Clean Air Act.
  • Over 10 years of experience in air quality compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to calculate air emissions in accordance with scientific and regulatory standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent writing, critical thinking, and reasoning skills.
  • Experience in mentorship.
  • Familiarity with APIMS and/or EESOH.
  • Consulting experience with DOD clients.
  • Understanding of DOD management practices related to air quality compliance.

Additional Information:

Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Compensation will be determined based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this role is $78,000 - $145,000. AECOM offers a comprehensive benefits program designed to meet the diverse needs of our workforce.
