Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Philanthropy Officer to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing engagement events for the philanthropic parent community, as well as coordinating the Parents Executive Committee and the Parents Leadership Council.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for engaging parents in philanthropy, including the planning and execution of events and programs.
  • Coordinate the Parents Executive Committee and the Parents Leadership Council, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among members.
  • Provide advanced administrative support to the senior director, including assistance with cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts.
  • Assist in advancing the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship goals of the director for major and principal-level families.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including parents, alumni, and university administrators.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a related field, such as fundraising, education, non-profits, and/or marketing.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent project management and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in database, spreadsheet, and word processing applications, including Google Suite, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Brown experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of event planning with a focus on philanthropy.
  • Knowledge of Blackbaud preferred.
