- Addresses inquiries related to patient appointments and assists in scheduling follow-up visits as required.
- Confirms and updates patient demographic and insurance details, ensuring all information is current and accurately recorded; processes visit charges and maintains up-to-date documentation.
- Handles patient payments, issues receipts, and reconciles daily cash transactions, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding patient information and financial transactions.
- Engages in ongoing professional development and maintains relevant certifications and affiliations.
- Participates in mandatory organizational meetings and committees as required.
- Performs additional related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required, along with at least one year of experience in an administrative or clerical role. Familiarity with medical terminology and experience in insurance processing are preferred. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous.
Work Environment:
The standard work environment is an office setting, requiring prolonged periods of sitting and frequent use of a computer. The role may involve occasional bending, lifting, and reaching for files and supplies, with the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity is necessary for operating standard office equipment, and vision must be correctable to 20/20. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with staff, physicians, and the public, including managing challenging situations with professionalism.
