Patient Services Manager III

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to join our team as a Patient Services Manager III in the Cardiovascular Operating Room. This role requires a versatile and knowledgeable individual who can effectively support surgical procedures in the cardiovascular specialty.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure that appropriate care and services are available to patients and families, and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration in patient care planning.
- Supervise a team of professionals and paraprofessionals, including nursing staff, health unit coordinators, nursing assistants, and utility aides.
- Effectively manage human resources, create an environment conducive to recruiting and retaining staff, and apply organizational policy and procedures in hiring, promoting, transferring, and terminating staff.
- Use clinical and financial information to establish and meet budgetary goals, and implement strategies to increase revenue and cost-effectively manage personnel, supply, and equipment resources.
- Ensure that internal and external regulatory standards or nursing practice are met or exceeded, and integrate current scientific evidence with standards of practice.
- Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives that focus on identified patient safety or quality of care deficits.
- Create an educational environment conducive to student learning, staff continuing education, and orientation of new staff members, and be accountable for annual competency evaluation of staff.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction, communicate patient satisfaction results, and lead monthly initiatives to improve consumer satisfaction with care and services.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from a state-accredited school of professional nursing.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
- Three (3) years of professional nursing in tertiary care and one (1) year of management experience in specialty area.
This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week. The work assignment type is onsite, and the location is UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, NC.
