Job Summary:
The Care Access Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services. As the first point of contact for patients, staff, and physicians, this role requires excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, staff, and physicians, ensuring a positive and caring experience.
- Registration and Scheduling: Assist with patient registration, scheduling appointments, and verifying patient information to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Referral Management: Manage incoming and outgoing referrals for multiple clinics, following established policies and procedures.
- Communication: Answer telephones, direct calls, and take messages in Epic, ensuring seamless communication between departments.
- Team Collaboration: Enhance co-worker satisfaction by being a self-motivated, positive communicator, and team player, willing to assist and support colleagues as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in departmental QA by utilizing system work queues, reducing individual errors, and making corrections to ensure continuous improvement.
- Training and Development: Effectively precept new co-workers as assigned, ensuring a smooth transition and onboarding process.
- Administrative Support: Perform other administrative tasks as needed, including message and response management in the two-way texting platform and clinic and provider in-basket message management.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: Three (3) years of customer service and/or clerical experience required
- Knowledge/Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in Epic
Work Environment:
This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek. The salary range is $18.20 - $25.86 per hour, with pay offers determined by experience and internal equity. The work assignment type is hybrid, with a day job schedule and a location in the US:NC:Chapel Hill area.
