About the Role:

The Patient Experience Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for visitors and patients of UNC Health, providing exceptional customer service at various locations throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a warm welcome to visitors, patients, and staff at hospital entrances, information desks, and other designated areas.
  • Assist visitors and patients with navigation, providing directions and information about hospital services and facilities.
  • Check patient appointment information and offer instructions on where and how to proceed.
  • Enter visitor information into the system's visitor database and issue temporary IDs to approved visitors.
  • Locate inpatient and outpatient information to share with inquiring patients and visitors, while adhering to HIPAA laws and hospital guidelines.
  • Maintain daily hospital census reports and update visitation logs throughout the day.
  • Provide wheelchair transport of patients and visitors to and from designated areas within the facility.
  • Perform inpatient discharges and assist departing patients and visitors with driving directions and other general information.
  • Maintain the tidiness of information desks and lobbies to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Respond to emergencies and assist visitors and patients as needed.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Must be resourceful and possess strong communication skills.

  • Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
  • Exempt from overtime.
