Marine Warranty Surveyor Manager

Job Overview:

The Marine Warranty Surveyor Manager plays a pivotal role within the Offshore Renewables sector, concentrating on the execution of extensive offshore wind initiatives. This position provides essential support to the Development, Construction, and Operations teams throughout the project lifecycle, serving as the primary contact for managing marine risks and overseeing the Marine Warranty Survey Consultant's scope and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert guidance and recommendations to ensure the successful completion of significant multi-contract packages while adhering to industry standards and HSE regulations.
  • Offer specialized knowledge to the Project Construction Manager and Marine Operations department, ensuring compliance with recognized standards and effective risk management for marine operations.
  • Evaluate bid levels, program strategies, and commercial agreements to identify cost-effective technical solutions and fully understand the associated risk profile.
  • Document all assessments, advice, and recommendations in line with internal procedures and industry best practices, ensuring thorough technical and commercial due diligence.
  • Foster strong relationships with key marine stakeholders, including Insurance, Engineering, and Transportation departments, to facilitate warranted marine operations.
  • Lead the development of in-house marine professionals, ensuring compliance with Marine Warranty Surveyor requirements and enhancing knowledge of maritime standards.
  • Manage marine interfaces to ensure compliance with Marine Warranty Surveyor requirements and support the project organization structure.
  • Implement offshore Marine Warranty Surveyor standards and best practices for large-scale offshore wind projects, ensuring delivery aligns with specifications and budget.
  • Participate in the Project Management Committee to contribute to key technical and commercial decisions.
  • Oversee external consultants and ensure compliance with Marine Warranty Surveyor standards throughout project operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a marine-related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Familiarity with warranted marine operations and associated standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE legislation relevant to offshore/marine construction projects.
  • Ability to work independently and lead effectively.
  • Experience in HSEQ within a marine context, including accident investigation.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Proficient in MS Office and project management software.
  • Knowledge of US or UK Renewables planning.
