Job Overview

Position Summary

Lynnhaven Marine and Dock, Inc. is actively seeking a skilled Construction Field Supervisor with over 10 years of expertise in marine and heavy civil construction. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in areas such as pile driving, rigging, cofferdams, concrete work, dredging, piers, bridges, timber construction, and equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage teams engaged in marine construction projects, ensuring effective planning, organization, and execution of construction methods, workforce allocation, material requirements, and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with in-house trades, subcontractors, and various company departments to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Lead safety meetings and enforce adherence to safety protocols for all personnel involved in the project.
  • Guide and mentor foremen within your designated area, ensuring compliance with company policies and technical standards.
  • Act as a liaison between field engineering, estimating, and trades to guarantee that construction aligns with plans and specifications, maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Assess work sites to identify necessary tasks, materials, and equipment for successful project completion.
  • Coordinate mobilization efforts and establish job site setups efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot construction challenges, including productivity issues and constructability concerns.
  • Ensure that all required materials, equipment, and inspections are in place to support project timelines and craft activities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Field Supervisor in the marine/heavy civil construction sector.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze construction plans and specifications.
  • Demonstrated leadership and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Certifications:

  • NCCCO Crane Operator Certification is a plus.
