Role Summary:

We are in search of a skilled Heavy Civil Engineer with a solid background in heavy civil engineering and a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing large-scale construction initiatives, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Direct and oversee heavy civil engineering projects, focusing on marine construction, bridge projects, ventilation systems, railroad infrastructure, and utility services.
  • Design Collaboration: Work alongside project teams to create comprehensive engineering designs and plans, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
  • On-Site Management: Supervise construction activities, coordinating with subcontractors to ensure adherence to project specifications and safety protocols.
  • Quality Control: Assess project progress and quality through regular inspections, ensuring all work aligns with company and industry benchmarks.
  • Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve engineering and construction challenges to facilitate project success.
  • Documentation Management: Prepare and review engineering documentation, including reports and specifications, ensuring timely and accurate project updates.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate effectively with project managers, architects, and other engineering professionals to maintain seamless communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all engineering work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Heavy Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in heavy civil engineering, particularly in marine construction, bridge engineering, railroad infrastructure, or utility projects.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with engineering software and tools, including CAD and project management applications.
  • Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and safety regulations, along with relevant codes and standards.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with a focus on effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not mandatory.
