Position Details

ROLE: Lead Procurement Specialist
LOCATION: Not specified
SHIFT: Day Shift (7:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday)
SALARY: $85K

Key Responsibilities

This role entails developing and maintaining relationships with external suppliers, managing order placements and fulfillment, supporting production material needs, and overseeing inventory management. The selected candidate will negotiate with approved vendors and place purchase orders to fulfill material requirements regarding quantity and timing. This position is crucial for implementing the Company's sourcing and procurement strategy.

  • Identify suppliers of materials, equipment, or services, and lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Collaborate with the planning team and utilize ERP systems to determine order quantities; assess market and delivery systems for current and future material availability.
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing lead times, rationalizing suppliers, lowering material costs, enhancing payment terms, and improving quality and delivery; prepare reports on supplier performance and market conditions.
  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for compliance with company policies; develop and implement purchasing and contract management guidelines.
  • Participate in creating specifications for equipment, products, or alternative materials.
  • Address vendor or contractor disputes and claims against suppliers; represent the company in contract negotiations and policy formulation with suppliers.
  • Manage inventory levels to support production requirements and financial objectives.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Follow up, expedite, and advise departments and suppliers as necessary to maintain valid production schedules aligned with company goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a Purchasing Certification from a recognized professional body; prior purchasing experience may be considered.
  • Comprehensive understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management, with 3-5 years of experience in a procurement role focused on electronic components.
  • Experience in an aerospace or automotive manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems.
  • Skilled in MS Office software, particularly in spreadsheet analysis.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment for cross-training and addressing operational issues.
  • Proactive in learning and adapting work methods to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
