Job Summary

Gpac is seeking an experienced Real Estate Title Attorney with a book of business to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day examination of title files, reviewing compiled information pertaining to the subject property, and ensuring that all transactions are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Title Review: Conduct thorough reviews of title files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Contract Review: Review contracts for purchases and ensure that all necessary documents are in order.
  • Commitment Preparation: Prepare clean commitments and send out commitment packages to lenders.
  • Curative Matters: Clear and resolve complicated curative matters such as bankruptcies, foreclosures, and other issues that may arise during the transaction process.
  • Client Communication: Communicate with clients and other stakeholders to ensure that all parties are informed and up-to-date on the status of the transaction.
  • Document Drafting: Draft contracts and other documents as needed to facilitate the transaction process.
  • Accuracy Review: Review commitments for accuracy and ensure that all necessary documents are in order.
  • Industry Knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of title operations, underwriting, and state guidelines to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Education and Experience: A college degree and Juris Doctorate degree are required, as well as two years of experience in the commercial real estate title industry.
  • Certifications: Membership in the Maryland Bar, Title Insurance License, and Notary Public are required.
