Job Overview

Position Summary

The Safety and Compliance Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing health and safety protocols within our facilities. This position involves the development of tailored safety programs, conducting thorough site evaluations, leading investigations into incidents, training staff, managing claims related to workplace injuries, and providing first aid as required.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts comprehensive evaluations to identify unsafe practices and conditions.
  • Collaborates closely with management to report and administer workplace injury claims.
  • Provides First Aid, CPR, and AED assistance as necessary.
  • Performs additional tasks to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
  • Ensures all employees adhere to safety protocols and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
  • Monitors the safe operation of all equipment within the facility.
  • Oversees the Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures where applicable.
  • Maintains online records of safety initiatives and training documentation.
  • Effectively manages daily responsibilities and communicates updates to leadership through reports.
  • Demonstrates punctuality, a strong work ethic, and maintains excellent attendance.
  • Available for on-call duties related to safety concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals, from laborers to management.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish or ability to translate effectively.
  • Proficient in computer applications including MS Office, email, and PDF management, with strong organizational skills.
  • Exceptional training and communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for success in this role.
  • Extensive knowledge of current safety practices and loss prevention strategies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License and willingness to undergo a background check.
  • At least three years of experience in safety within the construction industry or equivalent certifications.
  • A minimum of one year of experience specifically in building construction safety.
  • OSHA30 certification obtained within the last four years.
  • Physically capable of lifting at least 60 lbs and climbing ladders and stairs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current certification in emergency first aid, CPR, and AED within the last two years.
  • Knowledge and experience in fall protection, scaffolding, excavation, confined spaces, equipment operations, electrical safety, and incident investigation.
