About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at ASC Engineered Solutions. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, customers, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Assist and coordinate the implementation and maintenance of our Environmental, Safety, and Health Management System (ESHMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver effective EHS training programs, maintain training records, and ensure that all employees receive necessary training to perform their jobs safely and efficiently.
  • Program Development and Implementation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, execute, monitor, and continuously improve EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply your knowledge of EHS regulations, industry standards, and best practices to improve site EHS performance, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting: Support the investigation of incidents, conduct root cause analyses, develop corrective action plans, and maintain records of closure.
  • Site Safety Committee Management: Manage the site Safety Committee, develop corrective action items from audits and inspections, and ensure timely closure of action items.
  • Behavior-Based Safety Program: Participate in the management of a behavior-based safety program, adjust or modify the program to achieve maximum employee participation and results.
  • Environmental Permits and Compliance: Assist with the management of environmental permits, including stormwater, drinking water, and no exposure exemption permits, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in industrial safety programs or equivalent.
  • Experience: 0-3 years of related EHS experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of EHS regulations, experience with regulatory reporting, understanding of manufacturing processes, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, strong attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to lead others.
  • Certifications: First aid, first responder, or emergency medical technician certification a plus.
