We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at The Ford Plantation. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in supervising food production, ensuring high-quality dishes, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist the Executive Chef in planning and executing menus, specials, and events
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food production
- Monitor and maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and flavor
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and receiving of food and supplies
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to maintain profitability
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create and implement new recipes and menu items
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive dining experience for our guests
**Requirements:**
- High school degree or equivalent plus formal culinary training required
- Minimum of three years of food preparation and kitchen management/supervision experience
- Experience in an upscale, fine dining establishment preferred
- Knowledge of food handling and preparation principles and procedures
- Ability to effectively supervise and train kitchen staff
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Polished, professional appearance and presentation
- Competent MS Word and Excel software user
**Working Conditions:**
The Sous Chef will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting. The ability to work in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude in a high-pressure situation is essential.
