Responsible for preparing and positioning patients for MRI scans of various anatomical regions.

This includes the setup of necessary equipment (coils, monitoring devices, etc.). Following protocols established by Physicians and the MRI Operations Manager, the specialist selects the appropriate pulse sequences from the monitoring console for scanning procedures.

Evaluates the quality and completeness of the scanning results. Identifies issues and resolves them based on the operational selections made.

Processes images and conducts quality control checks to ensure proper contrast, display format, and text accuracy.

Conducts daily Quality Assurance tests on MRI equipment.
Monitors cryogen levels to maintain the integrity of the magnet.
Reports any system issues to the MRI Operations Manager or Office Administrator and documents all findings thoroughly.
Seeks guidance from relevant resources when uncertain about protocols or policies.

Initiates intravenous lines for patients requiring IV contrast during MRI examinations, considering the patient's comfort and anxiety levels.

Capable of assisting in the transfer of patients to and from wheelchairs.
Performs additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Graduate of an accredited radiology program required (two-year course).
Valid Connecticut X-Ray/MRI Technician license and ARRT registration required.
A minimum of two years' experience as an MRI Technician is preferred.
