Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Orthopedic & Neurosurgery Specialists. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients for MRI scans, ensuring accurate and high-quality images are obtained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and position patients for MRI scans, including setting up equipment and patient positioning
  • Screen patients and personnel for ferrous metal implants or other objects that may interfere with the scan
  • Accurately record pulse sequences and manipulate images to display to physicians
  • Photograph images and process films for quality control
  • Send images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and evaluate exams for completeness
  • Perform daily Quality Assurance tests on equipment and monitor proper cryogen levels
  • Inform supervisors and service personnel of system problems and document accurately
  • Seek advice from resources when unsure of protocol or policy
  • Provide patient care with universal precautions and practice room hygiene
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved school of radiology (two-year course)
  • Valid Connecticut X-Ray/MRI Technician license and ARRT registration
  • Minimum two years of experience as an MRI Technician, with orthopedic and/or neurological experience preferred
  • Ability to work well under pressure and strong interpersonal and customer service skills
