Role Overview: The Avionics Test Engineering Lead will oversee all aspects of testing avionics flight hardware for E-Space satellites, including the development of necessary test equipment, software, and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the avionics test engineering team to align with the technical priorities of the avionics department and the organization.
  • Create avionics test architecture for satellites and specific PCBAs.
  • Establish standards and procedures for testing in collaboration with other engineering teams.
  • Design and construct automated testing platforms, including custom PCBAs, harnesses, fixtures, software, and off-the-shelf equipment.
  • Conduct qualification and production acceptance testing, including ambient functional and environmental assessments.
  • Collaborate with spacecraft design engineers on Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in electronics development and testing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in test engineering.
  • Familiarity with PCBA development, including schematics and PCB layout.
  • Experience in software development, particularly with embedded software in C/C++, Python, and database management.
  • Proficient in using electrical testing equipment such as power supplies, loads, oscilloscopes, and thermal chambers.
  • Strong documentation skills for test procedures, results, and analysis.
  • Proven success in leading a team within a dynamic environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Programming proficiency in Python and C/C++.
  • Experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Familiarity with mechanical design using Solidworks.
  • Knowledge of radiation effects testing.

Compensation: The target base salary for this position ranges from $150,000 to $220,000 annually, with total compensation determined by various factors including relevant job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
