Role Overview: The Avionics Test Engineering Lead will oversee all testing phases of avionics flight hardware for E-Space satellites, including the development of necessary test equipment, software, and processes. This position requires collaboration with engineers across various disciplines and entails leading the avionics test engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the avionics test engineering team to meet technical priorities.
  • Design avionics test architecture for satellites and specific PCBAs.
  • Create standards and practices for testing procedures in partnership with other engineering teams.
  • Design and implement automated test platforms, including custom PCBAs and software.
  • Conduct qualification and production acceptance testing, including functional and environmental tests.
  • Collaborate with spacecraft design engineers on Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in electronics development and testing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Familiarity with PCBA development, including schematics and PCB layout.
  • Experience in software development, particularly with embedded software in C/C++ and Python.
  • Proficient with electrical test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, and thermal chambers.
  • Strong documentation skills for test procedures and results analysis.
  • Proven success in leading teams in dynamic environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Programming experience in Python and C/C++.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Experience in mechanical design using Solidworks.
  • Knowledge of radiation effects testing.

Compensation: The target base pay for this position ranges from $150,000 to $220,000 annually, with total compensation determined by relevant experience and skills.
