As a key player in our innovative team, you will take on the role of a Senior Wireless Communication Systems Engineer, focusing on the design and development of advanced communication systems for low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks.
Core Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Modeling and Simulation: Create and implement comprehensive mathematical models for physical layer communication systems tailored for LEO satellite networks. Utilize simulation tools to assess and enhance system performance across diverse scenarios, while analyzing physical layer impairments and proposing effective mitigation strategies.
- Design and Development: Architect and develop algorithms for physical layer modems, encompassing modulation, coding, synchronization, and channel estimation. Build prototypes and conduct laboratory tests to verify modem performance, ensuring seamless integration with hardware and software components.
- Performance Analysis: Execute thorough performance evaluations of communication systems, including link budget assessments, throughput, latency, and error rate analysis. Identify and address performance issues to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of design processes, simulation outcomes, and performance analyses. Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders, while staying abreast of advancements in satellite communication technologies.
- Collaboration and Support: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, providing technical expertise during system integration and field trials. Engage in design and code reviews, offering constructive feedback to enhance project outcomes.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Master's or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- A robust understanding of communication theory, digital signal processing, and wireless communication systems.
- Proficiency in modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB or Simulink.
- Experience in the design and development of physical layer modems.
- Familiarity with satellite communication systems, particularly LEO networks.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional skills that would be advantageous include:
- Knowledge of 3GPP standards, particularly 5GNR.
- Experience with modern coding techniques like LDPC, Turbo Codes, or Polar Codes.
- Familiarity with hardware implementation and testing of communication systems.
- Experience with software-defined radio (SDR) platforms.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as C/C++, Python, or VHDL/Verilog.
