Role Overview: The Avionics Test Engineering Lead will oversee all testing phases of avionics flight hardware for E-Space satellites, including the development of related test equipment, software, and processes.

You will collaborate with engineers across various disciplines, managing all facets of avionics test engineering. This includes building and leading the avionics test engineering team, creating the avionics test architecture, developing hardware and software, and executing tests at both unit and system levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grow and lead the avionics test engineering team to fulfill technical priorities.
  • Develop avionics test architecture for satellites and specific PCBAs.
  • Establish standards and practices for test procedures in collaboration with other engineering teams.
  • Design and construct automated test platforms, including custom PCBAs, harnesses, fixtures, software, and off-the-shelf equipment.
  • Conduct qualification and production acceptance testing, including ambient functional and environmental tests.
  • Collaborate with spacecraft design engineers on DFT and DFM strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in electronics development and testing, with at least 5 years in test engineering leadership.
  • Familiarity with PCBA development, including schematics and PCB layout.
  • Experience in software development, particularly with embedded software in C/C++, Python, and databases.
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment such as power supplies, loads, oscilloscopes, and thermal chambers.
  • Strong documentation skills for test procedures, results, and analysis.
  • Proven success in leading a team within a dynamic environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Programming expertise in Python and C/C++.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Experience in mechanical design using Solidworks.
  • Knowledge of radiation effects testing.

This is a full-time, exempt position. The target base pay for this role ranges from $150,000 to $220,000 annually, with total compensation determined by various factors including relevant job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
