Role Summary:
The Principal Electro-Optical Engineer will engage in all facets of the design and testing of optical communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various engineering disciplines to develop PCBA requirements.
- Design circuits related to optical communications, including laser drivers, receivers, power supplies, TIAs, instrumentation, filters, high-speed DACs/ADCs, and digital processors.
- Conduct schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
- Perform circuit analysis focusing on power, tolerance, and reliability.
- Oversee PCBA design verification testing and system integration testing.
- Provide production manufacturing support as necessary.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 15 years of experience in opto-electrical circuit design, analysis, simulation, schematic capture, PCB layout, and testing.
- Expertise in designing TOSAs, ROSAs, fiber optics, power supplies, TIAs, instrumentation, filters, high-speed DACs/ADCs, and digital processors.

Additional Skills:
- Proficiency in schematic capture and layout of complex PCBs.
- Experience with circuit analysis tools such as SPICE and Excel.
- Familiarity with electronic lab equipment including oscilloscopes and power supplies.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in optical communications system design and designing for space environments.
- Knowledge of Altium Designer and FPGA design skills.
- Programming skills in C/C++ or Python.

Compensation:
The target base salary for this position ranges from $170,000 to $220,000 annually, with total compensation determined by various factors including relevant job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
