About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team at Sierra Space. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing and executing capture strategies, and providing expertise in market assessment and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with customers to understand their needs and develop solutions
  • Facilitate new business opportunities and develop capture strategies
  • Oversee market assessment and monitor market activity
  • Identify customer needs and provide assistance for new product development planning activities
  • Assess program opportunities against target market, core proficiency, revenue potential, company ability, and projected business forecasts
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
  • Understanding of US Department of Defense Military programs or Civil Space services, and acquisition procedure
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and operations concepts and interpret, translate, and explain detailed technical ideas to technical and non-technical audience
  • Experience with technical marketing, proposal development, and program management or engineering design
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to motivate/work with others
Preferred Qualifications
  • Typically 4-6 years of relevant experience
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • Experience in Business Development
  • Exposure to proposal coordination activities to ensure proposals are staffed and supported to achieve success
  • Ability to work successfully in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment, emphasizing rapid fielding of capabilities, with minimal supervision
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military
