Job Purpose:

We are in search of a seasoned software engineer specializing in geometry and meshing to create and enhance mesh generation and processing software. This software will support our initiatives in topology optimization, additive manufacturing, and robotic assembly.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in developing unstructured mesh generation algorithms and techniques for mesh refinement, including smoothing and localized transformations, applying these methods within the context of large-scale product development.

The candidate should also be well-versed in contemporary software development methodologies within an agile framework. In addition to coding and documentation, collaboration with engineers and scientists will be essential to ensure that algorithms fulfill user requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and uphold software development best practices to guarantee high-quality code, effective testing, and punctual releases.
  • Design, implement, and optimize sophisticated algorithms and data structures related to mesh generation and manipulation to tackle real-world challenges and enhance the efficiency of geometric computations.
  • Develop algorithms and data structures for interfacing with CAD models and preparing them for meshing.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of discrete models generated during topology optimization to identify potential mesh quality issues and enhance structural analysis.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including software engineers, mathematicians, and domain specialists, to ensure seamless integration of our capabilities into broader software systems and applications.
  • Prepare clear and comprehensive documentation for algorithms, code, and methodologies, effectively communicating complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about industry and research trends in computational geometry, meshing, digital manufacturing, and computer-aided design, and share insights with the team.

Work Environment:

Qualifications:
Education: PhD or MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of computational geometry, mesh generation algorithms, and finite element methods.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing efficient algorithms in C++ or a similar programming language.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and formats commonly utilized in engineering, such as NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, and STEP.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with meshing techniques for additive manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with CAD software interfaces.
  • Experience in Python development.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing, parallel processing, and high-performance computing in engineering contexts.
