Role Objective:
We are in search of a seasoned software engineer specializing in geometry and meshing to create and enhance mesh generation and processing software. This software will support our topology optimization, additive manufacturing, and robotic assembly initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will possess a robust background in developing unstructured mesh generation algorithms and techniques for mesh enhancement, including smoothing and local transformations. Experience in applying these methodologies within the context of large-scale product development is essential. A solid grasp of contemporary software development practices in an agile environment is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and uphold software development best practices to guarantee high-quality code, effective testing, and timely software releases.
  • Design, implement, and refine advanced algorithms and data structures focused on mesh generation and manipulation to tackle real-world challenges and enhance geometric computation efficiency.
  • Develop algorithms and data structures for interfacing with CAD models, preparing them for meshing processes.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of discrete models generated during topology optimization to identify and rectify potential mesh quality issues, thereby improving structural analysis.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including software engineers, mathematicians, and domain specialists, to ensure seamless integration of our capabilities into broader software systems.
  • Prepare detailed documentation for algorithms, code, and methodologies, effectively communicating complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and research in computational geometry, meshing, digital manufacturing, and CAD, and integrate relevant insights into team projects.

Qualifications:
Education: PhD or MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience:

  • Deep understanding of computational geometry, mesh generation algorithms, and finite element methods.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing efficient algorithms using C++ or similar programming languages.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and formats commonly utilized in engineering, such as NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, and STEP.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in meshing for additive manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of CAD software interfaces.
  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Experience with cloud computing, parallel processing, and high-performance computing in engineering contexts.
