Role Overview:
We are in search of a seasoned software engineer specializing in geometry and meshing to create and enhance software for mesh generation and processing. This role is crucial in supporting our topology optimization, additive manufacturing, and robotic assembly software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and uphold best practices in software development to guarantee high-quality code, effective testing, and timely software releases.
- Design, implement, and refine sophisticated algorithms and data structures focused on mesh generation and manipulation to tackle real-world challenges and enhance the efficiency of geometric computations.
- Interface with CAD models, preparing them for meshing through the design and implementation of relevant algorithms and data structures.
- Conduct thorough analyses of discrete models generated during topology optimization to pinpoint potential mesh quality issues, thereby improving structural analysis.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including software engineers, mathematicians, and domain specialists, to ensure seamless integration of our capabilities into larger software systems.
- Prepare detailed documentation for algorithms, code, and methodologies, effectively communicating complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay updated on industry trends and research in computational geometry, meshing, digital manufacturing, and computer-aided design, bringing innovative ideas to the team.
Qualifications:
- PhD or MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong grasp of computational geometry, mesh generation algorithms, and finite element methods.
- Proficient in developing and implementing efficient algorithms using C++ or similar programming languages.
- Familiarity with CAD software and formats commonly utilized in engineering, such as NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, and STEP.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in meshing for additive manufacturing.
- Familiarity with CAD software interfaces.
- Experience in Python development.
- Knowledge of cloud computing, parallel processing, and high-performance computing for engineering applications.
