This role is critical in securing philanthropic support for our organization./ppThe successful candidate will engage and cultivate current and prospective donors, qualifying their capacity and building rapport to develop personalized donor strategies. They will implement fundraising strategies to secure major and planned gifts throughout the fiscal year, ensuring donors are aware of the impact of their philanthropy through regular updates and engagement activities./ppThe Development Director will collaborate closely with oncology physicians, researchers, and leadership to identify and prioritize funding opportunities. They will communicate compelling cases for support and organize donor cultivation and stewardship events, including meetings and tours./ppstrongEssential Functions of the Role/strong/pulliDevelop ongoing relationships with current donors and new prospects to secure gifts and meet or exceed an annual fundraising goal./liliLead and apply fundraising techniques and donor strategies to close on BSWH foundation gifting goals./liliServe as an active thought partner in developing comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with service line priorities and organizational goals./liliServe as a liaison to assigned Foundation Board members and assigned select hospital boards./liliLeverage and enhance donor and prospect experience, utilize database management, and manage total portfolio to achieve financial and non-financial goals./liliGrateful patient discovery./li/ulpstrongKey Success Factors/strong/pulliExcellent communication and interpersonal skills required, coupled with a high-level of emotional intelligence./liliOrganizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills needed./liliExcellent attention to detail, growth mindset, and a high-level of curiosity./liliAbility to lead and direct key stakeholders, inside and outside of the Foundation./liliKnowledge of proposal writing./liliPrior experience in healthcare or general non-profits preferred./liliBachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5 plus years of experience in major gift fundraising./liliGeneral knowledge of sales, public relations, management, and fundraising./liliUnderstanding and ability to work with data, projects, facilitate meetings, volunteer management, word-processing, and spreadsheets./li/ul
