Job Summary

The Baylor Scott & White Dallas Foundation is seeking a Development Director to join our team of fundraising professionals. This role is essential in raising philanthropic support for Texas's largest not-for-profit healthcare system, Baylor Scott & White Health, with a particular focus on the oncology service line.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop ongoing relationships with current donors and new prospects to secure gifts and meet or exceed an annual fundraising goal.
  • Lead and apply fundraising techniques and donor strategies, including qualifying capacity, building rapport, and identifying philanthropic interests to close on BSWH foundation gifting goals.
  • Serve as active thought partner in developing comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with service line priorities and organizational goals.
  • Serve as liaison to assigned Foundation Board members and assigned select hospital boards.
  • Leverage and enhance donor and prospect experience, utilize database management and manage total portfolio to achieve financial and non-financial goals.
  • Grateful patient discovery.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required, coupled with a high-level of emotional intelligence.
  • Organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills needed.
  • Excellent attention to detail, growth mindset and a high-level of curiosity.
  • Ability to lead and direct key stakeholders, inside and outside of the Foundation.
  • Knowledge of proposal writing.
  • Prior experience in health care or general non-profits preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5 plus years of experience in major gift fundraising.
  • General knowledge of sales, public relations, management, and fundraising.
  • Understanding and ability to work with data, projects, facilitate meetings, volunteer management, word-processing and spreadsheets.
