Position Overview

The Inventory Management Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing the supply chain and inventory management for designated components. Utilizing advanced planning systems, the specialist is responsible for the creation, modification, and cancellation of purchase orders while adhering to lead times. In instances where immediate supply is required, the specialist identifies the underlying issues, confirms purchase orders with suppliers, and escalates any supply gaps through established processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage supply and inventory for assigned components.
  • Review and analyze plan quality metrics, implementing solutions for identified errors.
  • Ensure accuracy of product life cycle master data and other critical planning information.
  • Prepare and present data for Supply Consensus Meetings, participating actively in discussions.
  • Lead Sales and Operations Execution Meetings, providing analytical support for purchasing decisions.
  • Collaborate with the demand planning team to address urgent changes in lead times.
  • Contribute to master data standardization and governance initiatives.
  • Engage in continuous improvement projects and kaizen events focused on enhancing processes.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 3 years of experience in supply planning is required. An MBA or 1+ years of relevant experience is preferred. Familiarity with outdoor wheeled or battery-operated products is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent listening skills to accurately assess stakeholder needs.
  • Basic analytical skills to identify root causes of issues.
  • Change management skills to navigate organizational adjustments.

Technical Proficiencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with skills in pivot tables and advanced formulas.
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly JDE Enterprise One, is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools for reporting and analytics.
