Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist - Patient Care Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality patient care and services in a post-acute medical setting. This role requires a strong understanding of respiratory care principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine therapy, diagnostic, and emergency cardiopulmonary procedures for patients in a safe and timely manner.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of all activities performed.
  • Demonstrate proper use of the medication dispensing system.
  • Assist with inventory control and maintenance of equipment.
  • Provide phlebotomy and basic laboratory testing services as required.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Certification or licensure in respiratory care in the state where the hospital resides.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Minimum of one year clinical respiratory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of all modalities of respiratory care and ability to interact well with patients, families, and staff.
