Snell & Wilmer, a prominent law firm in the western United States, is seeking to hire a Cybersecurity Analyst. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely from various states where the firm operates. The Cybersecurity Analyst will engage in proactive security measures and incident response activities, playing a critical role in addressing security threats.

The analyst will serve as a technical point of contact during security incidents, assessing the nature of threats and their potential impact on the business. They will recommend and implement appropriate actions to mitigate and resolve incidents. Staying informed about the evolving threat landscape is essential, as is enhancing the firm's security capabilities and identifying innovative detection methods. This position involves thorough analysis of security incidents utilizing analytical skills, IT security knowledge, and threat intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

Respond to security alerts and escalated incidents. Lead initiatives for simulated phishing exercises. Investigate and prioritize malware incidents for escalation. Monitor for new threat patterns and vulnerabilities. Provide recommendations for patching and workarounds for zero-day vulnerabilities. Collaborate with internal teams. Update management on security matters. Analyze malware-related artifacts using NGAV and EDR tools. Independently manage incidents from initiation to resolution for low to medium priority cases. Take ownership of incidents, understanding their business implications. Perform additional security-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

At least one to two years of experience in IT security. Proven experience in creating and managing simulated phishing campaigns using online tools. Skilled in conducting incident analysis on Microsoft Windows systems. Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python. Ability to function effectively in high-pressure situations and be available for on-call duties outside regular hours. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Comprehensive understanding of network systems, computing systems, and software applications. Familiarity with network and vulnerability analysis tools like InsightVM or Tenable. Experience in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Interaction with vendors for proof of concept support.

Preferred Certifications:

One or more of the following: GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA CySA, CompTIA Security+
