Position Overview:

Navistar is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Execution Systems Consultant to become a vital member of our IT Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Team. As the commercial vehicle sector undergoes its most significant transformation in a century, Navistar is committed to redefining transportation. The MES Consultant will perform analysis, design, evaluation, modification, testing, and implementation of enterprise-wide systems (e.g., Rockwell Factory Talk, Pinpoint) across various functional areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business partners to co-create the MES strategy and roadmap in conjunction with IT partners and external vendors.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance value, optimize business processes, improve user experience, standardize technologies, and leverage solutions across multiple sites.
  • Provide leadership, technical expertise, and local implementation experience through an Agile delivery model while working with the delivery team to ensure high-quality product delivery.
  • Manage backlog prioritization with business champions, focusing on the plant's most critical KPIs related to safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and compliance.
  • Facilitate the development of requirements and user stories with business champions to translate capabilities into actionable technical tasks.
  • Assess business criticality and product quality requirements, ensuring appropriate service levels, disaster recovery procedures, governance, change management, compliance, and operational support for the MES product.
  • Support plant operations during rollout and daily interactions with the MES.
  • Consult on problem-solving by analyzing data and application issues.
  • Ensure adherence to IT standards, data privacy, cybersecurity regulations, and industry compliance.
  • Coordinate technical discussions and vendor negotiations.
  • Engage closely with cross-functional teams, partners, and senior stakeholders, inspiring the team and providing a unique vision for potential outcomes.
  • Represent IT on the Shop Floor Launch Committee, understanding the impact of changes to MES, controls, and shop floor equipment while assessing risks and coordination efforts required.
  • Proactively cultivate relationships beyond your immediate team to achieve horizontal influence.
  • Utilize balanced judgment in decision-making regarding risks associated with both actions taken and not taken, while seeking ways to iterate quickly in a well-managed manner for the immediate team.
  • Stay informed about key Manufacturing IT trends, including Industrial IoT, Manufacturing Digital Plant Maturity, Cybersecurity, Data Integrity principles, technology, and data standardization.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 8 years of experience in analyzing, designing, evaluating, modifying, testing, and implementing enterprise-wide systems or business experience with ERP applications.
  • At least 1 year of leadership experience.

OR

  • Master's degree.
  • At least 6 years of experience in analyzing, designing, evaluating, modifying, testing, and implementing enterprise-wide systems or business experience with ERP applications.
  • At least 1 year of leadership experience.

OR

  • At least 10 years of experience in analyzing, designing, evaluating, modifying, testing, and implementing enterprise-wide systems or business experience with ERP applications.
  • At least 1 year of leadership experience.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
Preferred Skills:
  • Extensive experience in product management or developing complex digital solutions, particularly in manufacturing/shop floor environments, along with integration to the SCADA layer and PLCs.
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and integrity, with a strong passion for delivering value-adding technology to the business.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Action-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to eliminate obstacles and maintain focus on objectives.
