About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronics Manufacturing Engineer to lead our printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication team in the Space Sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the manufacturing and inspection of electronic printed circuit boards for spacecraft instrumentation, avionics, and electronics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manufacturing Leadership: Lead the fabrication team in the production of sophisticated one-of-a-kind systems that contribute to space exploration, advance scientific knowledge, and safeguard national security.
  • Process Development: Establish new processes and provide ongoing process improvements, root cause analysis, and corrective/prevention actions in a R&D engineering environment.
  • Equipment Qualification: Responsible for the qualification, operation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of area equipment, including solder jet pasting, pick and place, vapor phase reflow, selective soldering, component storage, and optical monitoring equipment.
  • Technical Training: Provide technical training in soldering and manufacturing techniques, methods, and processes to fabrication technicians.
  • Inventory Management: Support Controlled Stores operations, providing safe and effective storage and control of Program and Division components and inventory.
  • Process Controls: Establish and perform process controls, measurements, and product inspections.
  • Documentation: Document and create Division Operating Processes and procedures, including written work instructions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in PCB assembly and fabrication, with knowledge of electronic components, soldering, and solder reflow principles and requirements, ESD control and mitigation, staking, and coating processes and procedures.
  • 5+ years of experience in troubleshooting, with familiarity with defect analysis techniques.
  • 5+ years of experience in Designed Experiments, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, Lean, and DfX.
  • 3+ years of experience in inventory control systems.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
