Position Overview

The Texas Institute for Electronics (TIE) is in search of a seasoned and forward-thinking Director of Reliability Engineering to spearhead our reliability initiatives in cutting-edge semiconductor technologies, particularly focusing on 3DHI and advanced packaging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct the reliability engineering team, managing all facets of reliability testing, analysis, and qualification for TIE's advanced semiconductor offerings.
  • Formulate and execute comprehensive reliability strategies for 3DHI, advanced packaging, and various interconnect methodologies.
  • Promote continuous enhancement in reliability practices and processes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure reliability factors are incorporated into product design and development.
  • Examine reliability data and provide expert insights to enhance product performance and durability.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging reliability challenges in advanced semiconductor technologies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in semiconductor reliability, emphasizing electromigration analysis.
  • Extensive understanding of reliability physics and failure mechanisms in advanced semiconductor technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with 3DHI, advanced packaging, and various interconnect techniques, including copper damascene, thermo-compression bonding with C4 and copper pillars, and hybrid bonding.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in physical failure analysis methodologies.
  • Familiarity with reliability modeling and simulation tools.
  • Publication history in relevant technical journals or conferences.
  • Experience with qualification processes for automotive or other high-reliability applications.

Compensation

The salary for this position is competitive, starting at $200,000, commensurate with qualifications.

Working Conditions

  • Standard office environment.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • Manual dexterity required.
  • Exposure to chemical fumes and other potential hazards.

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with opportunities for flexible scheduling.
  • Occasional nights and weekends may be required.
