As a **Power System Network Model Engineer**, you will play a crucial role in the integration of generation and energy storage resources into the ERCOT System. This includes overseeing the entire process from the initial application for entry into the Generation Interconnection or Change Request (GINR) process to the final approval for commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct security screening studies and analyze generation element parameters.
  • Collaborate closely with various ERCOT departments, including System Operations and Market Operating Services Support.
  • Manage detailed model changes through Network Operations Model Change Requests (NOMCRs) to ensure an accurate Network Operations Model.
  • Provide mentorship and training to members of the Engineering Development Program (EDP).
  • Engage with the Resource Integration Working Group (RIWG) on interconnection issues.
  • Evaluate new technology implementations and suggest methods for accurate modeling.
  • Develop and enhance compliance reports associated with ERCOT Protocols and Guides.
Essential Duties:Entry-Level Responsibilities:
  • Work under the guidance of senior engineers to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Learn to utilize software tools that improve system reliability and efficiency.
Mid-Level Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the integration of generation and energy storage resources throughout the interconnection process.
  • Ensure compliance with NERC Reliability Standards and ERCOT Protocols.
  • Review and process generation interconnection applications and studies.
Senior-Level Responsibilities:
  • Act as a technical Subject Matter Expert and lead complex engineering projects.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and foster strong working relationships across departments.
  • Guide and mentor less experienced engineers and analysts.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Experience in power system engineering or a similar role is preferred.
