Appointment Services Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled Appointment Services Representative to join our team at the Medical College of Wisconsin. As a key member of our scheduling team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our patients, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience from registration to appointment scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments for multiple specialties and locations, providing clear directions and instructions to patients.
- Triage calls to determine patient needs and provide excellent customer service, responding to inquiries and routing calls to the appropriate individuals or areas.
- Encourage patients to sign up for MyChart and the Froedtert & MCW App to manage their healthcare electronically, guiding them through the activation process.
- Complete full registration, including setting up insurance coverage for new patients and verifying registration and coverage information for established patients.
- Work through referral queues, faxes, email, and other correspondence to schedule patient appointments, create referrals, and track completion.
- Manage web appointment requests for assigned teams and check emails and Epic InBasket regularly to stay up-to-date on changes and patient information.
Requirements:
- High school diploma required; 3 years of experience in customer service, preferably in a call center with moderate to high call volume.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans is highly desirable.
- Strong computer skills and ability to pass a typing test (5,000 KPH with 93% accuracy).
